Documentary goes Backstage with Greendale
The Greendale (WI) H.S. Marching Band is fortunate to have band dad Dan Kallenberger on its team ... because by trade he is a talented videographer. The band's activities have for years been documented with high-quality videos, and now Kallenberger has released a full-length documentary titled "Backstage." This project covers a year in the life of the band, and is truly a beautiful labor of love. Check out the trailer below, and view the full documentary on YouTube at no cost.

Band Directors Marching Band shines in Rose Parade
We could not be prouder of these music educators who created a spectacular moment in the 2022 Rose Parade. The Band Directors Marching Band includes members ages 19 to 73 who represent all 50 states marching alongside the float titled, "Saluting America's Band Directors. We Teach Music. We Teach Life." The combined entry earned the prestigious Showmanship Award for the most outstanding display of showmanship and entertainment. The entry was a special project of the Michael D. Sewell Memorial Foundation, and based on the positive reaction, we hope to see a similar entry in the future! This video was initially posted on Facebook and passed more than 500,000 views in the first three days!

"We Remember" - Michigan Marching Band
On September 11, 2021, the University of Michigan Marching Band presented a thoughtful field show to celebrate the resilience of America and to honor and remember those who lost their lives in the tragic events of 20 years ago. Enhanced with elaborate lighting effects, the repertoire of this must-see show includes Summon the Heroes; Mambo (from West Side Story); New York/Empire State of Mind; Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story; This Land Is Your Land; and Stars and Stripes Forever.

Europe's biggest floral parade
The Zundert Flower Parade (Corso Zundert) is a moving art gallery, with giant sculptures colored by dahlia blooms bringing creative concepts to life. Marching bands from several countries provide a musical backdrop as they contend for the coveted People's Choice award. Marching.com is a big fan of the parade and has covered it since 2006. Minnesota bands elevate the art of street marching
Minnesota's summer parade season has more than 20 competitive events culminating with the Vikingland Band Festival parade marching championship. This video from 2006 features Park Center High School's Cirque du Soleil show, which earned awards for first place, best color guard and best winds in the large school class, and was just 3-tenths from the overall Grand Champion award. The 2017 event takes place in Alexandria, Minnesota, on Sunday, June 25. This year's parade features 22 units including special guests Minnesota Brass and River City Rhythm Drum & Bugle Corps.

Getting a vision of "WGI Winds"
WGI is adding a new competitive division in 2015 called WGI Winds. During the 2014 Percussion World Championships, Aimachi (Nagoya, Japan) and Northglenn Performance Theatre (Colorado) performed stunning exhibitions as a preview of how the new WGI Winds format could look. Changing the face of college halftime
The Ohio State University Marching Band is on a roll this fall, delivering wildly entertaining halftime shows that mean spectators are waiting until after the band's performances to head to the concession stands. The October 19 show featured an incredible moonwalking Michael Jackson, and the October 26 performance in this video featured animated segments from Hollywood blockbusters.

College marching bands wow football crowds
Hot dog vendors aren't as busy at halftime anymore because crowds don't want to miss the awesome marching band shows! National media including CNN have shown videos that went viral, such as the University of Hawaii's football kicker and Ohio State's video game tribute. This clip shows the University of Tennessee performing its classic circle drill.

DCI corps take center stage in Live for Music video
International singer-songwriter Shaun Canon has given the marching activity a boost by including several top drum and bugle corps prominently in his latest music video. Follow Zydeco's "yellow brick road" to WGI
With the 2012 WGI Color Guard World Championships just days away, Zydeco Colorguard (Dayton, Ohio) provides a behind-the-scenes look at its program titled "Remember The Tinman." Filled with images of Oz, the story line explores the unspoken love story between Dorothy and the Tinman.

BOA Honor Band forming for 2013 Rose Parade
Tournament of Roses Parade officials attended this year's Bands of America Grand National Championships to officially invite the BOA Honor Band to march in the 2013 Rose Parade. The band will comprise 300 members representing all 50 U.S. states. High school students interested to perform with the band can download the BOA Honor Band application. The deadline to apply is February 10, 2012.
