Soggy flower fields that produced fewer blooms than usual didn't hamper the creativity of float builders who sourced alternate materials including wood shavings and legumes to
bring their fantastic sculptures to life for Corso Zundert 2024. The annual flower parade once again delighted spectators with a wide range of colors, themes and increasingly sophisticated animation.
First prize went to "Bite!" which depicted two fisherman spending a lazy afternoon on their boat hoping to get a bite on their lines, without knowing what lurked below. Second prize overall plus
first place in the People's Choice voting went to "The Lost Suitcase," a humorous and wildly imaginitive piece of theater showing the efforts of a bellhop trying to reunite a suitcase with its owner.
Other notable entries featured the magic of Geppetto's puppet workshop after the woodcarver falls asleep, an imposing interpretation of the Norse mythological wolf Fenrir, and an
eye-popping 3-story tall retail store display of action figure heroes who seemingly come to life. All 20 floats are pictured here in order of appearance.
