(November 9-11, 2023, Indianapolis, Indiana)
Excellence was off the charts as marching bands from 19 states delivered impressive performances at the 2023 BOA Grand National Championships. Razor-thin scoring margins made the contest exciting,
with 0.2 points separating the top two bands at finals, and 0.675 separating three additional bands in a battle for third place. Avon (IN) rose to the top with its production "Tableaux" and claimed caption honors for visual performance and general effect.
Carmel (IN) placed second overall, while Hebron (TX) placed third and earned the award for best music performance. The season was filled with thoughtful and entertaining productions, ranging from the emotional "Becoming" from Blue Springs (MO) to the delightful "A Happenin' Holidaze" from Fishers (IN).
The 2023
Bands of America Grand National Championships featured nearly 100 marching bands including 93 competing bands plus exhibition units.
