(March 19, 2022, Elk River, Minnesota)
Confident design and performance skills were on full display among units at the WGI Minneapolis Percussion and Winds Regional, giving notice that this small-but-mighty midwestern region will be well
represented in finals positions at WGI Championships. Thirteen of the 17 units at this contest are registered for the
WGI Percussion and Winds World Championships
to be held April 21-24 in Dayton, Ohio.
Brandon Valley H.S. (Brandon, SD) delivered a commanding performance, scoring 86.7 in Scholastic Open class after being promoted from Scholastic A class earlier in the season.
Perennial fan favorite River City Rhythm (Anoka, MN) scored 84.9 in Independent Open class with an engaging production featuring lumberjacks who "Paved Paradise." MBI Indoor Percussion (St. Paul, MN) provided one of the day's most stunning visuals
by encasing the entire floor in plastic sheeting and scored 84.65 in Independent World class.
Other units scoring 80+ points included Crossroads Percussion (IA), Burnsville (MN), Osseo (MN), Irondale (MN), Eden Prairie (MN) and event host Elk River (MN).
Photos of all 17 units in the #wgiminneapolis event are pictured here in no particular order. For complete results visit
