(November 8-10, 2018, Indianapolis, Indiana)
Featured vocalists and creative staging of the front ensemble were hallmarks of the 2018
Bands of America Grand National Championships.
A total of 115 marching bands from 22 states gathered for the prestigious event, including 108 bands that competed in the two-day preliminaries plus seven exhibition units. Thirty-seven bands advanced to semi-finals in a tight competition for 12 spots in the elite finals.
Talented singers had prominent roles in multiple productions, including the show from Blue Springs H.S. (Missouri) which could conceivably be remembered as the show that launched a young man's Broadway career.
Numerous bands explored unique field setups, moving their front ensembles to one side or even onto the field to create unobstructed space for in-your-face musical impacts and up-close visual effects.
Carmel H.S. (Indiana) achieved a three-peat by earning the title of Grand National Champion for the third consecutive year.
Marching.com photographed bands throughout the event and presents here the 37 semi-finalist bands in order of appearance at semi-finals.
