More than forty percussion ensembles including five Independent World units gathered in Bowling Green for a major WGI regional percussion championship. Notable this year was the number of units incorporating lighting effects into their shows, ranging from lighted equipment (Rhythm X) to shadow screens (Tyler Junior College), projection screens (Gateway Indoor)
and even an LED video panel (Petal H.S.). Units are in strong form ahead of the
WGI Percussion World Championships in April. The 10 World Class and 14 Open Class ensembles from the preliminary contest are pictured here in reverse order of appearance.
