(September 8, 2012, Tiel, Netherlands)
The creative float builders in Tiel explore all of nature to find fruits, vegetables and seeds that provide specific colors and textures to bring their designs to life. Grapes, blueberries, strawberries, peppers, onions and carrots are among the materials carefully arranged on the fantastic floats.
The 52nd Fruitcorso Tiel featured 20 floats in two divisions, a children's section, plus a creative display of mosaics along the riverbank.
First prize was awarded to a giant fruit-eating ant surrounded by six worker ants that exposed razor-sharp teeth to the crowd. Second prize and People's Choice went to an undersea expedition with riders on seahorses inspired by 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. All floats from the 2012 Fruitcorso Tiel are pictured here in order of appearance. Also view
