135th Rose Parade on January 1 celebrates Music: The Universal Language

PASADENA, Calif. (Dec. 19, 2023) The 2024
Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade promises another fantastic lineup of colorful floats, top-notch marching bands and majestic equestrian units beginning at 8:00 AM (Pacific) on Monday, January 1.
This year's lineup features 21 marching bands, including entries from Costa Rica, Japan and Sweden plus 12 U.S. states (Alabama, California, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin).
A special highlight for marching band fans will be the West Chester University Marching Band (Pennsylvania) which will be adorned with 20,000 flower blooms and incorporate spectacular elements including a lead banner decorated to the same floral standards as Rose Parade floats.
The theme "Celebrating a World of Music: The Universal Language" was chosen by Tournament of Roses President Alex Aghajanian.
"In a world of different cultures, beliefs, hopes, and dreams, one language unites us all music. The sound, texture, rhythm, form, harmony, and expression meld together to move, soothe, excite and delight the world," Aghajanian said.
Aghajanian chose multi-award-winning performer Audra McDonald as the 2024 Grand Marshal.
The Rose Parade will be broadcast on ABC, Cowboy Channel, Great American Family, KTLA, NBC, RFD-TV and Univision.
Curbside viewing is free of charge and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Pasadena city ordinance allows curbside space along the parade route to be occupied
no earlier than noon on the day before the parade. Reserved grandstand seating is available through Sharp Seating Company at 626-795-4171.
