134th Rose Parade on January 2 follows never-on-Sunday tradition
PASADENA, Calif. (Dec. 26, 2022) The 2023
Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade promises another fantastic lineup of colorful floats, top-notch marching bands and majestic equestrian units beginning at 8:00 AM (Pacific) on Monday, January 2.
This year's lineup features 21 marching bands, including entries from Italy, Japan, Mexico, Panama and Taiwan plus Arizona, California, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin.
The theme "Turning The Corner" was chosen by Tournament of Roses President Amy Wainscott.
"Whether that corner is actuallike the one at the famous turn, signaling the parade's start, or figurative like the unlimited potential that each new year bringswe all enjoy the opportunity of a fresh start," Wainscott said.
Wainscott chose former Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords as the 2023 Grand Marshal.
The 2023 event takes place on January 2 instead of New Year's Day in line with the
Rose Parade's "Never on Sunday" tradition.
The Rose Parade will be broadcast on ABC, Cowboy Channel, KTLA, NBC, Peacock, RFD-TV and Univision.
Curbside viewing is free of charge and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Pasadena city ordinance allows curbside space along the parade route to be occupied
no earlier than noon on the day before the parade. Reserved grandstand seating is available through Sharp Seating Company at 626-795-4171.
