2017 Presidential Inaugural Parade Order


Planned order of march announced for Inaugural Parade lineup

WASHINGTON, DC (January 17, 2017) — The Presidential Inaugural Committee has announced the complete lineup of groups and the marching order planned for the 2017 Presidential Inaugural Parade on Friday, January 20. The lineup features 23 marching bands including military, college, high school and civic bands from across the nation.

More than 8,000 people will follow President Trump and Vice President Pence after the swearing-in ceremony as they proceed 1.5 miles from the Capitol to the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue, continuing the tradition that began with Thomas Jefferson in 1801.

The 58th Presidential Inauguration January 20, 2017 Each branch of the military will pay tribute to our country by doing a flyover at the appropriate point when their branch is represented in the parade.

The President, Vice President, and their families will watch the processional from the reviewing stand in front of the White House. The estimated start time for the parade is 3:00 PM (Eastern) on Friday, January 20.

Live Streams Announced

Multiple media outlets have announced they will be streaming the day's activities — including the parade — live. Among the options available:
• PBS NewsHour will stream live on Twitter at inauguration.twitter.com
• CBS News will stream live at CBSNews.com/live/
• USA Today will stream live in 360-degree format on YouTube at youtube.com/user/USATODAY

All major television networks and cable news channels will be covering the inauguration festivities. Coverage of the parade will vary, but it is anticipated that all of the networks will at least show the parade as background of their ongoing coverage.
