Three shows feature field exhibitions by Rose Parade bands

PASADENA, Calif. (Dec. 23, 2016) — Marching bands appearing in the 2017 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade on January 2 will also perform field exhibitions in the annual Tournament of Roses "Bandfest" presented by Remo on December 30-31, 2016.

Each performance of Bandfest features a different slate of bands and lasts approximately two-and-a-half hours. The first performance will be held Friday, December 30 at 1:30 PM. Two additional performances will be held Saturday, December 31 at 9:30 AM and 2:00 PM. Pre-show entertainment by one of the participating drum lines begins 30 minutes before each show time.

This year's lineup includes both university bands representing the Rose Bowl Game teams, Penn State and USC. The Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps will also appear with 250 current and recent members who have been assembled to kick off the corps' 50th anniversary celebration.

Bandfest is held in Pasadena at Robinson Stadium on the campus of Pasadena City College, 1570 E. Colorado Blvd.

Tickets to the event are $15 each and may be purchased in advance through Sharp Seating Company at 626-795-4171. Children ages five and under are admitted free of charge. Tickets may also be purchased at the venue beginning 30 minutes prior to the performance time, pending availability. Free parking is available onsite in the Lot 4 parking structure.

The Pasadena Tournament of Roses is a volunteer organization that annually hosts the Rose Parade® presented by Honda, Rose Bowl Game® presented by Northwestern Mutual and various associated events. The 128th Rose Parade, themed Echoes of Success, will take place Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, at 8 a.m. (PST) featuring majestic floral floats, high-stepping equestrian units and spirited marching bands. Following the Rose Parade, the 103rd Rose Bowl Game will begin with pre-game festivities at 1:00 p.m. (PST) and feature an exciting match-up between Penn State and USC.
