Five of last year's Grand National finalists in the lineup

Updated Oct. 24: Finals schedule added below

Bands of America Regional Championships INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 22, 2015) — The second Bands of America "Super Regional" of the 2015 season takes place this weekend at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis. Sixty-four competing bands will perform in preliminary events on Friday and Saturday, with the top 14 bands advancing to the finals contest on Saturday evening.

Two exhibition bands will also perform during the event. The University of Toledo Rocket Marching Band will perform at 4:15 PM Saturday at the conclusion of the preliminary contest. The University of Alabama-Birmingham Marching Band will perform at 10:45 PM Saturday at the conclusion of the finals contest.

Bands performing in the Indianapolis Super Regional represent Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas. Among the lineup are five bands that earned a place in last year's Grand National Championship finals: Avon, Carmel, Homestead and Lawrence Township from Indiana, plus Marian Catholic from Illinois.

Some of the bands performing in this weekend's Super Regional will come back in three weeks for the BOA Grand National Championships, which has bands from 21 states (including Alaska and Hawaii) currently registered for the event to be held November 11-14.
