A History of Drum & Bugle Corps, Volume 1 available for limited time

Drum Corps History Book cover APRIL 12, 2010 — Five years after the initial 2002 printing of A History of Drum & Bugle Corps, Volume 1 sold out, copies will once again be available for a limited time.

The 432-page book was originally published in June 2002. The last copy was purchased in December 2005. Over the subsequent five years, the Drum Corps World office has received numerous requests for copies of the first volume from fans who bought the second volume, which was published in 2003 and is still available at drumcorpsworld.com.

Sights & Sounds, Inc., the publishing company that also produces Drum Corps World newspaper, will be issuing a small quantity of the original book as a softcover volume. It will be for sale beginning on Monday, May 3.

Publisher Steve Vickers is calling for fans who would like to purchase a copy to call 1-800-554-9630 (8:00 AM to 9:00 PM Central time) or e-mail to be put on a list. Once the quantity is established, a price will be finalized and customers will be notified via e-mail, phone or regular mail.

Because of the size of the book, it is no longer possible to produce a quantity that will leave a significant number of copies sitting on a warehouse shelf. A small quantity over the requested number will be printed, but once those are sold, no more will be produced.

Deadline for getting on the list is May 3, 2010. Purchasers will be notified that day of the price and payment will be required by May 24 in order to be guaranteed a copy.
