Philadelphia Holiday Parade Logo Philadelphia is a city of "firsts" and the Philadelphia Holiday Parade is no exception. To our knowledge it is the first and only parade in the nation that specifically celebrates Hanukkah, Kwanza, Chinese New Year and Christmas all in the same parade!

The inaugural year for the parade was 2021 where thousands of spectators lined the parade route and were dazzled by this new concept in parade design.

The parade takes place on the first Saturday following the Thanksgiving weekend and begins promptly at 5:00 PM from 2nd and Market Streets. The parade then travels East Market Street toward City Hall where it makes a slight right into the telecast area and finally a slight right onto North Broad Street where the parade ends in front of the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The route is 1.4 miles long.

This unique parade incorporates a variety of cold air balloons, floats celebrating each of the holidays, marching bands, groups connected to the various holidays, and much more. The parade is very colorful and even educational!

Marching band and special unit applications are currently available through 2026.
