The German Music Championships:
Showcasing a Variety of Music and Marching Styles

The German Music Championships in Celle are a unique highlight of Germany's cultural calendar. Taking place on the first weekend of September in the picturesque Günther-Volker-Stadion near Hanover, this extraordinary event is the only marching and drum corps competition in Germany organized in close cooperation with Drum Corps International, SoundSport, and Drumline Battle.

Top show and music ensembles from across Germany — as well as neighboring countries — come together to showcase their talent and passion for music. Participants can compete in several categories: the Premier Class for marching ensembles, the Junior Class for young performers, and the Concert Class for groups performing without a marching program. The dynamic SoundSport and DrumLine Battle formats also provide exciting opportunities for a wide variety of ensembles. In addition, the Free Class offers non-competing groups the chance to perform for a large audience.

A defining feature of the event is the panel of highly trained and qualified judges, ensuring the highest evaluation standards through close cooperation with the European Drum Corps Championships. Participants can expect fair, consistent and expert feedback.
