Each November, historic Plymouth, Massachusetts hosts America's Hometown Thanksgiving Celebration and Parade, an event that draws large crowds and attracts national attention. For more than two decades, student performance groups have played a central role in this celebration, participating in a nationally televised parade that combines entertainment with historical education.
The annual parade, broadcast on ABC in the Boston area, brings history to life with reenactors portraying Pilgrims, Native Americans, Soldiers, Patriots and early American settlers. The event provides a unique opportunity for students to engage with the history they often only encounter in textbooks.

Through a longstanding partnership with Performing Arts Consultants, marching bands, choirs and other ensembles from across the country have the opportunity to perform in front of thousands of spectators in a town deeply embedded in America's founding story.
After the parade, performing groups attend a special event at Plimoth Patuxet Museums, including a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and a self-guided tour of the historic Plantation and the iconic Mayflower. The immersive experience helps deepen students' understanding of the Pilgrims and Wampanoag people, and this pivotal moment in American history.
Many groups also extend their trip to explore nearby Boston. With its rich colonial history, world-renowned museums, and cultural landmarks, the city offers a range of educational opportunities. Visit
