College Band Traditions - UT Salute to the Hill
With college marching band traditions and performances modified due to COVID-19, we're looking back
at some of our favorite clips from past years. One of the best is at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where the 300-member Pride of the Southland Band performs a
pre-game march to the stadium. The ritual involves stopping at "The Hill" next to Neyland Stadium where tens of thousands of fans gather.
This video does a great job capturing the spirit of the event.
Fundraising because ... ... the uniforms didn't even look good when they were new in 1972.
... the flags made out of draperies just didn't spin right.
... the tuba sounded better before it fell behind the bleachers.
