World-class drum and bugle corps performances motivate students

Band directors can expose their students to powerful marching programs presented by drum and bugle corps during this year's Drum Corps International
summer tour. Groups ordering 25 or more tickets qualify for ticket discounts, and select events will feature pre-show educational clinics.
DCI's 2008 summer tour includes more than 135 events throughout North America, putting at least one corps show within driving distance for most high school marching bands. The tour begins June 21 with events in California, Illinois and Ohio and ends with World Championships Finals in Indiana on August 9.

Fifteen events are designated as "premier events" which are held in large stadiums and offer some of the tour's largest lineups. The 2008 premier events include:
- Normal, IL – June 27
- Madison, WI – June 28
- Pasadena, CA – July 4
- Kalamazoo, MI – July 5
- Stanford, CA – July 5
- Louisville, KY – July 7
- Denver, CO – July 12
- Orlando, FL – July 12
- San Antonio, TX – July 19
- Hattiesburg, MS – July 22
- Murfreesboro, TN – July 25
- Atlanta, GA – July 26
- Allentown, PA – August 1-2
- Michigan City, IN – August 5
- Bloomington, IN – August 7–9
Among the corps competing on the 2008 tour are last year's top six corps: Blue Devils, Concord, CA; The Cadets, Allentown, PA; The Cavaliers, Rosemont, IL; Phantom Regiment, Rockford, IL; Santa Clara Vanguard, Santa Clara, CA; and Carolina Crown, Fort Mill, SC.
"Attending a 2008 Drum Corps International summer tour event keeps students engaged through the summer," said John DeNovi, director of
business development for DCI. "It's a great way for a high school director to reward student leaders, inspire excellence, jump start a
band camp and celebrate participation in marching music with administrators, students and their families."
Some events on the summer tour will feature pre-show clinics that allow students to get up close and personal with top instructors and
performers from some of DCI's top corps. Check
