Alumni invited to re-live the experience

In 2008 the Bands of America Grand National Championships will move a short distance from Indianapolis' RCA Dome to the new Lucas Oil Stadium which is under construction next door. To celebrate the many memories that have been made in the RCA DomeBands of America began holding events there in 1984marching band alumni are invited to take a "last trip" through the RCA Dome's famous airlock.
The airlock is the final staging area where band members wait before they enter the performance field. The airlock's gigantic doors have become a famous symbol of the Grand Nationals experience, and have been captured in documentary films such as
The Pride of Broken Arrow and
From The 50 Yard Line. Thousands of band students have experienced the moment when the doors open, revealing the vast interior and large crowd.

Band alumni and their friends will gather on Saturday, November 17, 2007 for a group walk through the airlock. The event will take place at approximately 1:45 PM to coincide with the afternoon break during the semi-finals competition. The event is free, although everyone must have a ticket for Saturday's semi-finals to gain admission into the RCA Dome.
