The Lake Waconia Band Festival is held each year on the third Saturday of June. This "bands only"
parade competition is a highlight of the summer marching season in central Minnesota. The 2010
event will present many of Minnesota's greatest bands on parade beginning at 6:00 PM on
Saturday, June 19. The Festival is celebrating its 12th anniversary this year.
Trophies and prize money are awarded to the top bands in three classes. Additional trophies are
awarded for the top Wind Section, Color Guard and Drum Line in each class, plus the overall
People's Choice and Grand Champion.
The parade travels along Main Street in downtown Waconia with breathtaking views
of beautiful Lake Waconia. Judging takes place near the intersection of Main Street and Olive Street. The city is located 25 miles southwest of the
Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.
