True "once in a lifetime" performance opportunities do not come along often. Yet that's precisely what is open to bands who will gather in
Hawaii for a mass band performance in conjunction with the Pearl Harbor 75th Anniversary commemoration.
To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, the USS Battleship Missouri Memorial together with EMI Hawaii & Group Travel Network,
proudly host a mass band performance featuring student musicians from Japan and the United States of America.
Watch the live webcast at 4:00 PM Central on December 7
December 7th is a day forever etched in the history and culture of both countries, and it is our ultimate goal to pay respect, remember and never
forget the tragedies of World War II.
The mission of this cultural exchange is to demonstrate in a truly remarkable manner, how cultures once opposed can work together 75 years after the
"Day of Infamy." It is our hope that students will educate each other by sharing cultural practices and present the world, "A Gift of Music"
on December 7th, 2016.
Only once will there be a 75th Anniversary to one of our nation's gloomiest days, December 7th and the attacks on Pearl Harbor. Only once will
there be a 75th Anniversary Mass Band Performance at Pearl Harbor. Only once will we have an opportunity to honor our past, present and future
military personnel in this remarkable manner.
Bands traveling to Hawaii for the 75th Anniversary Pearl Harbor Mass Band can take advantage of many educational and recreational opportunities available on the islands, such as:
