The NYC Veterans Day Parade is the oldest and largest parade of its kind in the United States. The patriotic event features more than 20,000 participants, including veterans of all eras, active duty military,
ROTC and JROTC units, civic and youth groups, all accompanied by music performed by top high school bands from around the country.
The event gives high school band members the opportunity to say "thank you for serving" to veterans,
perform for thousands of cheering spectators, and march along New York's Fifth Avenue past landmarks such as Rockefeller Center, Saint Patrick's Cathedral and the Empire State Building.
One day prior, the NYC Veterans Day Parade kicks off with a unique one-of-a-kind high profile performance event, The Band of Pride Tribute. This mass band performance is held in the heart of Times Square and
features all the student performers participating in the parade. The Band of Pride Tribute performance is conducted by Dr. Kenneth Dye, Director of Bands at Notre Dame University.
The NYC Veterans Day Parade is televised in New York City and the surrounding states on FOX5 New York. The parade is also streamed live from 12 Noon to 3 PM on MyFoxNY.com.
NYC Group Tours, the official travel sponsor of The Band of Pride Tribute and The NYC Veterans Day Parade, invites bands to apply to participate in one of the most popular and meaningful
parades in America The New York City Veterans Day Parade.
The Band of Pride Tribute mass band performance is held in Times Square one day before the NYC Veterans Day Parade.
