Already considered one of the best parades in the state of Hawaii, the Honolulu FestivalParade of Bands® took a major step forward in 2010 by
featuring a marching band competition for the first time. Bands from Hawaii, the United States mainland and foreign countries are invited to participate and compete for
the unique trophies that will be awarded to the best performing groups. Performances will be judged by adjudicators from the University of Kansas and the
University of Hawaii.
The Honolulu Festival was founded in 1995 and has grown to be a premier cultural event in Hawaii. The three-day festival includes ethnic
performances, events and exhibits at various venues throughout Honolulu. The highlight of the festival is the grand parade held on the last day of the
festival. The parade features marching bands, thousands of performers and world-class floats.

More than 40,000 spectators line the parade route which begins at Ft. DeRussy, passes through Waikiki and ends at Kapiolani Park.
